JOB DESCRIPTION:

Ritzy are looking for a tech wizard to join the team! The chosen candidate would work on asset management, workflows and help design and implement new pipeline features so that the day to day running of our productions is smooth and efficient.

You’d have a solid working knowledge of Maya, Nuke, and have the keeness to explore other DCCs as the need arises. Flexible and friendly, you’d work with team leads to create artist-friendly tools that will help improve workflows. You’d also be happy to help troubleshoot the various problems that arise on productions big and small.

Ritzy is a young company, and it’s only recently that we have begun investing in our pipeline - There is the opportunity to design and create something from the ground up without having to work around legacy designs/practices.

Ritzy Animation is a London based studio which focuses on character animation. Founded in 2017, we have quickly grown and established ourselves as a creator of exciting and characterful animation. 

We pride ourselves in creating beautiful and engaging work and enabling our staff to express themselves in a creative environment. We always experiment, push new styles and techniques, and enjoy applying our knowledge to all sorts of projects in 2D and 3D. Our projects are stylistically diverse, and our work varies from commercials to TV series with everything in between. We are looking for talented individuals to join our growing company.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement the next version of our pipeline - reviewing existing tools and building on them to improve efficiency

  • Maintain artist facing tools that are easy to learn and use

  • Clear documentation + tutorials for artists to learn from

  • Devise new methods to help efficiency in the studio across all departments and advise on implementing newer technologies.

  • Assisting production with automation needs and supporting with troubleshooting and bug fixes

  • Ensuring the smooth running of all in-house tools and systems

  • Proactively test new and existing features to ensure the highest levels of quality

  • In-depth technical knowledge of Maya, Nuke

  • To assist in helping problem solve production issues related to pipeline/workflow

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • High level of Python programming

  • Experience: Qt/PyQt/PySide/PyMEL as well as working with JSON files

  • Solid troubleshooting skills and independent problem solver

  • Experience with Maya, Nuke and other softwares a bonus

  • Knowledge of industry-standard scene data formats: Alembic, USD, OpenEXR

  • Experience with fTrack or similar, along with writing API tools to integrate these with Maya/Nuke

  • Highly organised, with experience writing clean, readable code with PEP 8. Tracking and managing changes to code and version control with Git.

  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making

  • A clear communicator and team player - happy to jump in on things big and small

  • Proactive, responsible with good time management and the ability to take on tasks from concept to delivery

  • Friendly, respectful, with a good attitude to feedback and changes
